Katie Smith,
45, an executive recruiter and yoga practitioner, saw a need for
stress reduction tools for individuals and organizations. Her work
with mid-and executive level managers for the past six years surfaced
that need, along with an even greater desire for a way to manage
the level of stress fast-paced jobs produce. A sense of urgency
and fast response time are key in corporate cultures. Katie understands
this and tempers that awareness with her ability to negotiate, follow-up,
and build relationships based on integrity.
Yoga can reduce
stress. Katie knows. She has seen it work its magic in her own life.
A yoga practitioner for 18 years, and Kundalini Yoga and Meditation
instructor for 11 years both in the Bay Area and now, in Austin,
Texas, she has watched a stress alternative become a mainstream
pass time.
A Fashion &
Art Institute graduate and former personal shopper, for years, Katie
assisted others in presenting a "dress for success" image
to the world. But in 1990 her focus turned inward, spurred on by
a desire to redefine "success" in light of personal challenges
that included raising a profoundly hearing impaired daughter. After
practicing Hatha yoga for 4 years, in 1990, Katie discovered Kundalini
Yoga and Meditation, a holistic form of yoga that integrates body,
mind and spirit in one practice. Immediately, she saw positive results.
She became a certified International Kundalini Yoga Instructor in
1993 after the birth of her second child.
Katie believes
in the power of Kundalini Yoga. So do others. In fact, in 1995 the
State Law Board of California approved her custom-designed program
for emotional distress and substance abuse as a continuing legal
education course for lawyers. Since that time, she has worked nationally
with corporations and individuals. Specifically focusing on the
power of this technology as a stress management tool. Offering to
others a way for living a more balanced life. Clients range from
CEO's to stay-at-home moms and in industries as diverse as legal,
healthcare and education.
Katie's tandem
career as an executive recruiter, along with her yoga instruction
and raising two children has shown Katie how to integrate this technology
to the fullest when faced with the demands of everyday living. Katie
offers a more balanced way of living by combining self-empowerment
techniques with easy-to-use yoga poses so one can refocus their
stress into productivity, anger into positive energy and overwhelm
into calmness.
YogaSmith is
for every Dick or Jane employee, for every Brown or Smith executive.
It's easy, it's professional. It's guaranteed top-notch because
Katie demands that. Does it work? Ask Katie's clients. Or better
yet, ask Katie. She is her best testimonial.
